Schwulenberatung Berlin has been supporting gay and bisexual men for more than three decades. In recent years, we have extended our network to the trans* and inter* community.
We aim to provide help, seeing the world from a gay point of view. Lesbian, gay, bi, trans* and inter* (LGBTI) people are still increasingly likely to experience discrimination, as well as being exposed to particular health risks. Conventional healthcare and mental health care units are not always equipped to offer the right support. With this in mind, we have established a range of services, as diverse as the people we represent. For us, it is extremely important that someone who identifies as trans* or gay can freely be allowed to express themselves without fear of judgement.
We’ve extended our range of services and are currently the main charitable organisation in Berlin and beyond for the LGBTI community, with special units devoted to people living with HIV & Aids. What’s more, we’ve created support groups for queer refugees to feel at home and safe in Berlin as well as in the community.
Schwulenberatung Berlin is available to everyone in need. With our teams able to offer support in a variety of languages, we are equipped to help find a solution to almost every problem. All our advice is handled with discretion and are of course anonymous.
