Drop-in Centre at “Café Kuchus”

We are open again every TUESDAYS and THURSDAYS  2 p.m.-6 p.m.

‍Are you Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Trans, or Intersex (LGBTI)?

Café Kuchus provides you with a pleasant and safe place to meet other LGBTI refugees, ask the social workers about whatever you need, or just to have some tea and access our WIFI network.
We are happy to help you with a first orientation in Berlin and advise you about LGBTI-friendly lawyers, doctors, psychotherapists, and language courses providers as well as information about nightlife and free time and cultural activities.
We speak English, German, Arabic, Farsi, Russian, Spanish and French. For other languages, we work with LGBTI-sensitive translators.
Café Kuchus is the best way to contact us if you do not know exactly the kind of assistance that you need. You do not need an appointment. Just come over. We will be happy to see you.

Do you need specific and individual assistance to find and apply for the suitable social, legal, medical, and psychotherapeutic services?
We offer confidential individual counselling in several languages. For other languages, we work with LGBTI-sensitive translators.

Consultations are by appointment only. Send your request via email or come to Café Kuchus on Tuesdays and Thurdays to arrange for an appointment.

Legal Advice on Asylum Procedures and Migration Laws for LGBTI Refugees

Are you Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Trans or Intersex (LGBTI)?
We offer consultations and information on the following topics:
– Preparation for the asylum case’s hearing at the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF)
– Asylum procedures, including Dublin procedure and legal protection, as well as residency rights and migration laws
– “Sexual orientation and gender identity” as grounds for asylum
We offer confidential individual counselling in English and German. For other languages, we work with LGBTI-sensitive translators.

Psychological Counselling for LGBTI Refugees

Are you Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Trans or Intersex (LGBTI)?
Do you often feel overwhelmed, sad or alone and want to talk about it?
Do you feel that you do not know how to deal with bad memories?
Do you have nightmares or difficulties to fall asleep?
Do you consume alcohol or drugs in order to calm down?
Do you have relationship problems and do not know how to handle them?
We are happy to offer you advice on these or any other topics in a confidential conversation. We will also help to connect you with the LGBTI-sensitive psychotherapeutic services.
Our therapist speaks German, English, Italian & Greek. For other languages, we work with LGBTI-sensitive translators.

Open consultations every  Thursday from 2 pm to 5 pm in Café Kuchus. Otherwise, you can arrange for an appointment via email.
